Silvia Fado Combines Fashion and Technology in This 3D-Printed Shoe

Taking a step towards the future of fashion, the world has finally seen the first 3D-printed shoe made with carbon fiber.

3D printing technology is still relatively new and now it's seeing many new developments -- the fashion world in particular is beginning to embrace the countless possibilities it can bring. Fashion and footwear designer Silvia Fado is moving the culture forward with her 3D designs.

Partnering with 3D printing company, HXX, Silvia first showed her prototype during Fashion Festival in Spain. The 3D-printed shoes themselves feature angular heels and a metal base in the back of the shoe, giving it a modern look that also benefits from the strong, durable and lightweight properties of carbon fiber.
