Concrete 3D-Printed Houses

Contour Crafting Could Produce 3D-Printed House Designs in 24 Hours

Professor Behrokh Khoshnevis of the University of Southern California developed a technology called "Contour Crafting," a technology that will be able to construct a 3D-printed house within 24 hours. These multi-storey concrete houses are created by gigantic 3D printers, from the bottom up, which could totally revolutionize the way homes are constructed.

The Contour Crafting process has already received recognition from NASA and the National Investors Hall of Fame. Beyond just the possibility of being able to rapidly produce entire homes on Earth, Khoshnevis notes that "Contour Crafting will most probably be one of the very few feasible approaches for building structures on the Moon and Mars, which are being targeted for human colonization before the end of the new century."
