3D Gradient Rugs

This Three-Dimensional 'Carpet Sign' Collection Was Designed by Karim Rashid

This 3D gradient rug collection from 'Carpet Sign' was designed in collaboration with industrial designer Karim Rashid.

The 'Lush Collection' features 12 designs that each come in six different color variations and three sizes. Each design includes elements of color and textural gradation. According to Rashid, each rug is "Defined by alternately geometric/curvaceous shapes, undulating lines, dazzling color, and a playful use of tints/gradients, each rug is an optical and sensual experience."

The designs of the 3D gradient rugs are intentionally playful and bold. Each rug creates an optical illusion by using varying pile heights that depend on the overall design. The rugs are meant to reflect the digitally inspired world in which we live. To create these designs, Carpet Sign used a 3D printer it acquired earlier this year.
