The 2014 Forbes Billionaire List–a ranking of the world's wealthiest individuals–was released earlier this year. Fortunately, for those of us who aren't keen on reading, designer Tom Ovens has created a graphic that beautifully and succinctly tells the story of this year's billionaires.
This year saw 268 "newly minted billionaires," including Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and WWE CEO Vince McMahon. In addition to there being new billionaires, I'm saddened to report that 100 people no longer qualified to be on the list this year–I suppose they'll have to settle having only a few hundred million dollars. 2014 also saw the return of Bill Gates as the richest person in the world, a title he hasn't held since 2009.
The 2014 Forbes Billionaire List marks Forbes 28th year publishing their list and while I'm sad to have been overlooked yet again, I suppose there's always next year.
