Zumbo by Elenberg Fraser School Has Surreal Qualities

Zumbo is a well-known patisserie in Australia that has an eery, surreal feel to it. The restaurant was designed by students from the Elenberg Fraser School, whose brief was to stick with the branding scheme of Zumbo, use a little pink, and come up with something creative.

A bright pink neon sign is seen at the very back of the place, which stands out as people walk into the place. Pink, glowing glass lighting also hangs overhead, but overall the interior is quite dark, almost like a nightclub. The best part about the design is a sofa that looks like it's growing a questionable skin disease all over its body. While this is not usually the type of images one would want to conjure up in a patisserie, the design team manages to make it blend in and work with the other features of the place.
