Snackers are looking for satisfying, crunchy bites made with real, recognizable ingredients that they can feel good about eating, and Yukon Curls are a new multigrain snack on the market made with a blend of wheat and barley. These snack puffs debuted in three classic flavors: BBQ, Salt & Vinegar, and Sour Cream & Onion.

Using grains grown on its Yukon farm, Hinterland Flour Mill began creating and selling flour products during the COVID-19 pandemic. Noting that consumers like instant gratification, it branched out into the creation of snacks beyond brownie and pancake mixes and whole-grain flour. Yukon Curls were made possible with the aid of the Agri-Food Innovation Centre—a specialist in helping farmers commercialize new food products—which had never before used wheat and barley to make a puff product.
