Functional Slotted Furnishings

Ypsilon Tables Have Forked Legs That Serve to Store Assorted Items

When Davide Anzalone and Tommasso Bistacchi designed the Ypsilon Tables, they discovered a new and clever way to integrate the necessary support structures. The legs that elevate the horizontal planes have been given a second function, increasing the storage capacity of each of the pieces.

Laser-cut metal material was used to make the entirety of the furnishings. Two separate but sandwiched panels stand upright as legs, only to branch out in different directions to take Y shapes. The divergent upper edges of these props join up with correspondingly notched sections of the tabletops, creating deep slots on the sides of the coffee tables, side tables and entertainment units. The Ypsilon Tables thus provide extra space in which to stash books, magazines, newspapers and more.
