In light of recent changes to YouTube's monetization policies, the video platform has received some flack for the perception of it being an unfriendly space for creators, but recent updates like the YouTube webcam feature show that the site is looking to mend those relationships. Until now, creators needed to install complicated encoding software in order to stream content. The new feature, which is available through youtube.com/webcam as well as on the 'Go Live' button in the YouTube header, lets anyone live stream.
Though there's no configuration required for using the Go Live feature, it's currently limited to Google Chrome. YouTube is planning to expand to other browsers in the near future.
