Coffee-Based Footwear

XpreSole Uses Recycled Coffee Grounds for Every Component of Its Design

With a campaign on Kickstarter, XpreSole is introducing itself as the world's first shoes to use recycled coffee grounds as the key element of every major component in its design. In fact, a single pair of XpreSole's sustainably made, vegan-friendly shoes is made from about five cups of recycled coffee grounds. As such, it's hardly a surprise that XpreSole reports that the lightweight and eco-friendly footwear styles are also said to share the aroma of coffee.

By working with spent coffee grounds and a special compound that can be used for the soles and tops of shoes, XpreSole developed a footwear solution that's dirt-proof and water-repellent with odor control properties.
