Gerry Stecca Uses Thousands of Clothespins in His Wrapped Tree Project

The only artist to have worked so consistently with clothespins according to his website, Gerry Stecca has taken it upon himself to carry on with his clothespins wrapped tree project, bringing the thought-provoking art installations to the newly open Ft Smith Regional Museum of Art.

With his Kickstarter campaign successfully funded, the artist is now able to purchase more than 7000 clothespins that he plans on painstakingly wiring and drilling together by hand. The results will be flexible sheets of wooden clips that can be wrapped around tree trunks, bending around the lumpy exterior of the trees in organic shapes and patterns.

Wooden clothespins are physically being brought back in touch with their natural sources in this wrapped tree installation project created by artist Gerry Stecca.
