Wang Wen-Chih's Woven Architecture Boasts Organic Shapes

Wang Wen-Chih woven architecture piece looks to nature for its visual inspiration. Based in Taiwan, the artist creates an impressive structure that is built using over 600 bamboo poles and 70 pine logs.

To realize this project, Wang Wen-Chih worked with Cave Urban, an Australian architecture firm that helped take this building from concept to reality. This woven architecture piece was built as part of Sydney’s Woodfork Folk Festival and is a piece that has drawn in countless tourists.

This bamboo structure is beautiful during daytime hours but is even more stunning when experienced at night. When illuminated, the architecture piece boasts colored light that is modulated through its woven and geometric frames that feature slight openings.
