As a response to a request made by a client for the need of a wind and rain shelter for the veranda of their outdoor summer house and a multi-purpose shed that could double as a means of storage or a camping area, Norwegian architecture studio Rever & Drage built a series of wooden cabins located by the North Western coast of Norway.
The series of cabins features a hut installed with a retractable roof and two sheds that can be opened with sliding wooden doors. The structures are built so that they surround a small patio, which can be ideal for summer.
The main cabin is fitted with a roof that is able to slide forward; "[m]aking the roof slide back and forth gave the project a tiny hint of Leonardo da Vinci activity, with its wheels, wires, sliding beams and counterweights," according to the architects.
