Toronto-based company 'Bamloff' created a set of fully modular wooden robots called 'WooBots.' Each toy begins as a vehicle such as a car, transport truck or jet plane and has the ability to transform into a robot in a matter of seconds.
With an aesthetic similar to the robots seen in the 'Transformers' film directed by Michael Bay, these creative toys combine authentic wooden materials with mechanics and robotic functions. Bamloff decided to use wood as an eco-friendly substitute for mass-produced plastic. The smooth wooden exterior provides a unique and appealing texture that is not traditionally associated with robots or modernized toys. The wood used is a high-quality material, which ensures that each transformer is durable and built to last.
The Woobots are currently being funded through a Kickstarter campaign and will be available for consumer purchase in time for the December holidays.
