SPARK Movement's Women on the Map Identifies Where Influence Was Made

Spurred by the fact that women only appear on Google's daily doodles about 17% of the time, Women on the Map was created. This app from the SPARK Movement aims to bring significance to notable women from history using Google's Field Trip app as a base.

With this app, a user is able to see exactly where a woman made history in the real world and get insights on some of her accomplishments. So far, this includes over 100 ladies like activist Mary Ellen Pleasant from San Francisco, who helped slaves escape plantations and Mary Anning from England who discovered fossils that forever changed what we know about dinosaurs.

The neatest part about this app is that the SPARK Movement is fueled by young girls and women between the ages of 13 and 22 who are passionate about celebrating women of yesterday and today.
