The Women Luggage by Nausheen Saeed Highlight the Plight of Many Women

The women luggage sculptures by Pakistani artist Nausheen Saeed is a disturbing and upsetting representation of the discrimination many women face.

The Pakistani artist's creations were inspired from her own experiences with ridicule and belittling from family members. The women luggage creations are made with the use sculpted fiberglass and are then wrapped with carpet-patterned fabrics that gives the sculptures a mummified look. Afterwards, the sculptures are attached with zippers, straps and handles, which give the sculptures an enslaved look.

The artistic depiction of women sadly isn't so farfetched from the truth. Women are treated as secondary citizens, are given less priority and less importance. The women luggage sculptures depict women, as objects that are simply owned.
