This Artist Created a Series of #WokeUpLikeThis Disney Princesses

The #WokeUpLikeThis Disney series is created by artist Isaiah K. Stephens and imagines what animated princesses would look like after a good (or not so good) night's sleep. The images showcase how modern women look in the morning, by incorporating hazy eyes, fashion-forward pajamas and lots of coffee.

From Pocahontas to Cinderella, all of the Disney portraits in this series bring a sense of realism to the animated characters. While viewers are used to seeing these princesses in full gowns and flawless hair, this series focuses on making the characters relatable to today's women.

Stephens gained inspiration from a social media movement that sees women using the hashtag #WokeUpLikeThis -- a lyric from a popular Beyonce song to post morning selfies. While other artists transform Disney characters into various alter egos, this series takes a more literal, modern day approach.
