Winged Honey Packaging References the Insect Source of this Spread

A successful technique used by the creator of this winged honey packaging concept was to bring life to an inanimate product. With the goal of fostering a connection with the end consumer, Gabija Platukyte worked to make a simple honey jar into the insect that helped to produce this sweet spread.

The first step was to cover the container with a black-striped sticker, mimicking the familiar pattern that's found on honeybees. Next, the glass jars were slipped into boxes that open up like wings. These protective cartons were custom designed with diagonal folds and illustrated insides. Delicate lattice-like textures resemble the fine veins of bugs' wings. When stored and shipped, these boxes can be closed around the Aus Baus products, but opened up once more for a playful effect on the supermarket shelf.
