Wildfox Fall 2014 Fashion Mixes Jane Austen with Sass

Seeing the models walk down the runway at the Wildfox Fall 2014 fashion show must have been a triumphant moment for creative director Kimberly Gordon, especially considering that it was a first for Wildfox at New York Fashion Week. Attendees of the show seemed to be just as excited, sending out tweets and Instagram pics of the assorted cupcake Rice Krispie treats that were put out before the show. Clearly Wildfox knew how to kick things off in style, but this was just a prelude at the sweetness to come for the show.

The collection channels Jane Austen with a twist, as it is made clear by the title of the Wildfox collection ’Sense & Eccentricity.’ The contrast in inspiration is most evident in the way pretty florals, ruffles, toile prints and sweet macaron-like pinks and greens are styled alongside slouchy hats, pants and deep army green colors. Wildfox manages to bring in its ever-present cheeky sense of humor with shirts that make proclamations like: "Mrs. Darcy" and "I need a drink."
