‘What Makes a Baby,’ a new picture book by Canadian educator Cory Silverberg, teaches kids exactly where babies come from, combining both science and colorful explanations in its method.

With new technology coming into play in the baby-making field, such as surrogate parents, in-vitro fertilization, etc., some kids might not feel the same way as others about old-fashioned explanations as to where babies come from. To remedy this, Silverberg created ‘What Makes a Baby.’ 

It "teaches curious kids about conception, gestation, and birth in a way that works regardless of whether or not the kid in question was adopted, conceived using reproductive technologies at home or in a clinic, through surrogacy, or the old fashioned way (you know, with two people and some sexual intercourse), and regardless of how many people were involved, their orientation, gender and other identity, or family composition," according to the author's site.

This ensures that, no matter where a child comes from, he/she receives the same education as everyone else. In this way, ‘What Makes a Baby’ has revolutionized sexual education.
