Destigmatizing Medication Buttons

'Wear Your Meds' Encourages Discussion About Mental Health

'Wear Your Meds' is a series of buttons that depict various kinds of medications for mental illness that contribute to destigmatization and promote open discussions about mental health. Most of the buttons feature bold background colors and images of different pill medications like Xanax and Wellbutrin.

The collection of buttons was created by advertising and copywriting student Lauren Weiss from Miami Ad School in New York City, who says that wearing the buttons is a "symbol that represents the story you want to tell and a gateway into your personal story." Since the buttons have been created, Weiss heard from many people who have expressed their fears surrounding mental illness and the role it plays in their life.

Proceeds from the sales of the Wear Your Meds buttons are donated in support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
