Andrea Krook Narrates Her Travel Observations with Colors

Andrea Krook, a conscientious traveler and artist, narrates her daily travel observations in a slum in Kenya, as well as the famous Pike Place market in Seattle vibrantly on paper.

She purposefully blends the African children’s faces in an unrecognizable manner. By doing so she emphasizes the ignorance and the unwillingness of the world to identify with them.

"I left out each face because I feel Americans often ignore Africa—and anyone, for that matter, living in poverty. We look the other way," explains Andrea Krook.

It is amazing how disconnected most people in the world are from each other and how easily ignorant we can be to the tragedies happening all around us. Artists such as Krook take a stand and remind people of the part of themselves that they need to take action on with these gorgeous works of art.
