Water has no shape—or at least that’s what I thought until I saw Xiaoli Wen’s Water-Shaped Bottles collection. The Kingston University grad has created a series of porcelain bottles which possess undulating, flowing characteristics that have been shaped by the falling of water.
The Water-Shaped Bottles were made by filling silicone rubber molds with plaster. These molds were hung under flowing water to cure and then the bottles were cast in porcelain. Here’s what Wen had to say about her Water-Shaped Bottles project:
