Disney World Interactive Mega Map

Taking the virtual map concept one step, no, make that a giant leap further, Disney and Google Earth have teamed up to create a new "mega map" that will allow you to explore Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and 22 Disney hotels and resorts.

"It's a virtual walk-through of the whole property: the most amazing virtual tour of any place in the world," Jay Rasulo, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman, explains to USATODAY.com.

This map will be incredibly useful for trip planning, especially if this is a rare or even "once in a lifetime" kind of vacation. One thing that surprises a lot of first time visitors is just how large Walt Disney World is. It is one of the few resorts where advanced planning is a must to get the most for your money. And for those who simply can not afford to visit "the Mouse", or are still trying to decide whether to take the plunge, this new map should make it much easier to visualize what WDW has to offer.

The new map, which will be FREE, will be available later this month via Disney's 3dparks site, or via Google Earth.
