Walmart Added a New Perk to Its Walmart+ Membership Program

Walmart added a new perk to its Walmart+ membership program, where the retailer will now offer medication discounts to thousands of consumers.

The company said that consumers who have a Walmart+ membership will have the ability to access certain medications at no cost and receive discounts on thousands of medications. The program will offer some discounts of up to 85% off certain types of medication. The retail giant named the program "Walmart+ Rx for less" and consumers will be able to use the program in place of health insurance at over 4,000 Walmart locations.

"We’re designing Walmart+ to be the ultimate life hack for our customers. It’s been our commitment from the beginning to continue to grow the suite of benefits we offer Walmart+ members," said Janey Whiteside an Executive Vice President and Cheif Customer Officer at Walmart U.S. "We know we can use our size and scale to help simplify things for our customers in a way only we can."
