Compostable Adhesive-Free Sneakers

The Voronoi Runners are Biodegradable for Better Disposal

Footwear is one of several fashion products that is essential but notorious for hanging around in our landfills and taking decades to decompose, so the Voronoi Runners have been designed to offer a more eco-friendly alternative.

Designed by Rik Olthuis of the Massey University of New Zealand, the sneakers are crafted with 100% biodegradable components that are intended to be separated from one another before disposed of or composted. The footwear also maintains an adhesive-free design that is achieved using a 3D printer and flexible filament that will enhance the comfort for the wearer.

The Voronoi Runners are also focused on a customizable fit thanks to a midsole that will contour to the foot and provide much-needed support when training or simply walking around.
