The VL Destino Turns Heads at 2014 NAIAS

Those with a keen eye for cars might notice that the VL Destino looks a bit like the Fisker Karma. That's because the Destino is based off of the Karma, albeit with one big exception. Whereas the Karma was a plug-in hybrid, the Destino is powered by the V8 engine found in a Corvette ZR1.

The car was dreamed up by GM's former VP of production, Bob Lutz, and first made its debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show. The VL Destino is back for the 2014 NAIAS, but this time it has been given a makeover and a haircut.

The VL Destino convertible sports a folding hardtop and an interior covered in leather courtesy of automotive leather upholstery specialists Katzkin. Aside from the few concept sketches of the new VL Destino, not much is known about the re-imagined hybrid, but that should change once the 2014 NAIAS gets into full swing.
