Crafty Eclectic Homeware

littala’s Vintage Homeware Collection Debuted at Milan Design Week 2014

Everything about this new vintage homeware collection is eclectic, thoughtful and fabulously stylish. Having recently debuted at Milan Design Week 2014, this vintage homeware collection by Finnish design brand Iittala is already causing a hype with its stunning and kitschy line of products—the new collection includes boxy shelves, plywood furniture and glass lamps.

The ‘Aitio’ collection by Danish designer Cecilie Manz is reflective of its name, which means theater box in Finnish. As the quirky product of the collection, the wall-mounted shelves are made from steel and come in a variety of colors.

"My focus with Aitio was functionality, simplicity and aesthetics," says Cecilie Manz.

Designed by Swedish designer Matti Klenell, the ‘Kerros’ shelf is just as unique; the plywood side table can also be used as a chic tray.

"The Kerros is a new kind of object that sits somewhere between furniture and a household product," says Klenell.

The rest of the Iittala collection is a collective effort which includes the Leimu lamp by Norwegian designer Magnus Pettersen, the Kuukuna lamp by Oiva Toikka and the Nappula Candelabra by Matti Klenell.
