Robson on Vintage Fashion Films as a Nostalgic Experience

Along with her love for fashion, she also loves motorcycles, architecture and has a certain affinity for eggs. Her commitment and passion at Trend Hunter shows through, which has helped her attain the experience needed to be in a dream position within the marketing and social media sector.

How do you define cool?

I define cool as something I want to tell my friends about immediately. It doesn't necessarily need to be the newest thing, but something that grabs your attention right away and I want to tell everyone.

What is your favorite trend and why?

My favorite trend is vintage fashion films. This one's called 'Living as a Gamble' by Graham Dunn. It reminds me of one of my best friends that just passed away. It completely embodies a carefree spirit and relaxing in the sun.

How do you uncover the best trends?

My secret to uncovering the best trends is stalking Twitter, stalking Facebook, stalking anything and everything that you think is going to give you the trend. I love motorcycles, I love fashion and I love architecture, and I find that if you find a website that you know no one else is using you can just keep going back and it will be your go-to website.

What is your favorite part about working at Trend Hunter?

My favorite thing about working at Trend Hunter is definitely the people and the environment. I never thought I would be able to sit all day and write trends, but knowing that everyone around me is doing the same thing, it's a competitive environment. Everyone is fun loving and very unique. You're not going to get the same person twenty times. Every single person as an individual and brings something else to the table.

What did you aspire to be when you were younger?

This is going to sound like I had no hopes and dreams, but when I was little I wanted to work at Tim Hortons to press the pop machine buttons. It just looked so cool because a) I wasn't allowed pop as a kid and b) it just seemed like the best job ever. Since then I've decided that I want to go into marketing and social media.

Predict something awesome for 2020?

A trend I see upcoming in the future is related to eggs. I would love to see something that cooks an egg in a pan without you having to do anything but press a button, and it puts it on a piece of toast and makes the sandwich for you.

What advice would you give to the business world?

My advice to the business world is network. Networking is key. You might not have the past experience, but if you know the right people or if you've made the right connections then that can take you a long way.

What is the most remarkable way that you see businesses changing?

The most remarkable way I see business changing is more movement online. The key would be to stay on top of what's going on online because that's the future.

Any last thoughts you'd like to add about Trend Hunter?

I'd like to thank everyone that's taught me what I've been learned so far. I've probably learned more in this internship than I have in three years at university, and this is not even the second month. You should just go after every opportunity that comes your way.
