Robotic Painter Installations

The Vertwalker by Sonice Development Scrawls on Walls Like Children

The Vertwalker by Sonice Development, a group of artists and inventors based in Berlin, Germany, puts children's artworks to shame. It is a robotic painter that scrawls on walls as though it were a little tyke running rampant in the home with a handful of crayons in each hand. Yet it isn't the chaotic scribbles that make this device so impressive. It's the fact that it can traverse on walls as though it were a nimble squirrel.

Currently on display for the Red Never Follows‘ exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery London until the beginning of September, the Vertwalker by Sonice Development is made out of a combination of foam boards, sensors and custom electronics. Seeing it in person must be incredibly captivating.
