Philippe Starck Uses Apple Leather for a Furniture Collection for Cassina

Philippe Starck boasts a vegan furniture collection that is upholstered with a cruelty-free fabric dubbed 'Apple Ten Lork.' A total of 16 designs are created for Cassina who is interested in finding alternatives for traditional leather.

Apple Ten Lork is a material that was developed by Italian company Frumat. It is produced through the upcycling of organic waste, namely apple cores, and skins. The fabric is available in a triad of colorways -- white, orange and black.

Philippe Starck's vegan furniture is exhibited in Cassina's Rive Gauche showroom which has been turned into an immersively artistic narrative for the audience. The space is adorned with noteworthy paintings -- from Albert Dürer's 'Adam and Eve' to René Magritte's 'The Son of Man,' that "tell three stories about apples."

The vegan furniture will be exhibited there until the 30th of January.
