Riot Games Announces Plans to Expand 'Valorant' International Leagues

Riot Games has announced that its popular first-person shooter Valorant will be receiving a proper international league and will begin running applications to identify long-term team partners for Valorant’s new esports circuit.

The international leagues will be comprised of teams from Europe, the Americas, and Asia competing against each other on LAN. The event wil be broadcasted to a live audience. Teams will then have the opportunity to qualify for two Masters events and the Valorant Champions Tournament. Riot Games will also improve its current Challengers and Game Changers system, expanding opportunities for up-and-coming talents to reach professional-level play.

"We want to build the top level of competition that will provide more exciting matches, new events that will thrill live audiences, and engaging experiences for millions of online fans," says John Needham, President of Esports at Riot Games.
