Flash Mob Tax Protests

US Uncut Amuses and Confuses B of A Employees with 'Pay Up' Performance

US Uncut, a self-described "grassroots movement taking direct action against corporate tax cheats," hooked up with the Ruckus Society and Brass Liberation Orchestra (BLO) to send a flash mob message to Bank of America in San Francisco for tax day weekend 2011.

Though smaller and less dramatic than some recent flash mob performances, US Uncut surprised San Francisco Bank of America employees when it delivered a song and dance in the bank's lobby. The mob's message to, 'Pay Up!' was rendered as a remix of Salt-n-Pepa's classic hit, Push It. Bank tellers looked amused and the security guards seemed a little confused as they looked on. Once the short performance was over, the protesters took to the streets to continue to deliver their message in the open air.
