Fragrance company 'Xyrena' is set to launch a unisex perfume that honors the life of R&B superstar Aaliyah. While celebrity-made perfumes are nothing new, it is highly unusual for a perfume to be branded with the name of a deceased celebrity.
The commemorative fragrance was designed as part of a collaboration between Xyrena and Aaliyah's immediate family members. The perfume pays tribute to the late singer by evoking some of her most memorable qualities. The fragrance is unisex, which alludes to Aaliyah's love of masculine scents and her iconic tomboy image. The perfume comes in a rich black hue and features notes of vanilla, amber and mint. To further honor the songstress, five percent of sales go towards The Aaliyah Memorial Fund.
