Commuter Train Runway Shows

Japan's Keio Inokashira Line Was the Stage for This Unique Runway Show

Between the Shibuya and Kichijoji stations on April 14th, Japan's Keio Inokashira Line was host to a very unique runway show. The mini fashion show on the moving Japanese commuter train featured 14 male and female models, advertising not a particular brand of clothes, but the new Kirarina shopping mall that opened last week at the Kichijoji Station.

Fashion models are often tasked with walking some difficult runways and unless this was one slow-moving train, this would have been one of them. Fortunately, the models seem to have been provided sensible flat walking shoes for the stunt. The red carpeted runway spanned three train cars and although the fashion show took place on public transit, the exclusive show was unfortunately only open by invitation to members of the press and the fashion industry.
