Just like a car, the URWERK UR110 has a control board under the glass surface cover -- there is an oil change indicator alongside a revolving satellite complication, day and night indicator and rotating hour and minute modules. Some of URWERK's past models even had 100-year or 1000-year indicators.
The face of the watch resembles a car's dashboard. The time ticker looks like a speedometer. The exterior was sand-blasted for a matte finish, which is the paint of choice for many car lovers. Overall, the watch has a techy, futuristic look.
Co-founder and watchmaker of URWERK Felix Baumgartner states on the company site, "Our timepieces are definitely contemporary – even futuristic – designs created using the very latest technology, but they are decorated in the most traditional of manners by human hand. I like that contrast."
