Meandering Ribbon Pathways

Turenscape's Unique Garden Design Leads People Through It Seamlessly

The Red Ribbon Park in China designed by Turenscape architects is a unique garden that has an interesting wayfinding system. As the name suggests, visitors to this Qinhuangdao park are guided throughout it by a structure that resembles a red ribbon. The ribbon spans a vast 547 yards, which gives it ample space to play with the surrounding landscape.

In addition to providing navigation throughout the park, red ribbon serves as seating, a place to host lighting and a barrier to keep people on the walking path and away from trampling the natural areas of the park.

The ribbon is constructed of fiberglass and it varies in width throughout the park. Like a ribbon, its shape is fluid and organic, which makes this Chinese park a unique one to visit.
