Living underwater may not be as far in the future as we imagine it to be with the news of this stunning futuristic underwater biosphere concept by designer Phil Pauley.
The London-based designer envisions a futuristic concept for self-sustainable underwater living. Pauley's 'Entitled Sub-Biosphere 2' concept is made up of a viable structure that has eight living biomes that are 340 m wide and 120 high (which is above water).
With features like a life-monitoring system to support the biosphere, an observation pod, individual pods and boats, the underwater biosphere is "designed for aquanauts, tourism and oceanographic life sciences and long-term human, plant and animal habitation," according to Pauley.
Designed to accommodate up to 100 people, the biosphere is so intricately designed to be able to sustain people with its life support systems for air, water, food, electricity and other resources.
