Elegantly Modern Forest Retreats

This Ultra-Contemporary House by Paz Arquitectura is Striking

This ultra-contemporary house is nestled in the outskirts of Guatemala City, offering guests an opportunity for a high-end glamping experience. At the intersection of nature and modern design, the 'Little Cabin' (translated from 'La Cabañita'), is a project that exhibits impeccable attention to detail and a sense of chic, fashion-forward sensibilities in architecture.

The development of the forest retreat began in 2016 and it was based on a preexisting 1965 cabin. It wasn't until this year that Guatemala City-based studio Paz Arquitectura finished off the ultra-contemporary house with two additional volumes, a terrace, and a glass walkway. To make a strong visual impact, the architects did not only choose to embrace a strong and interesting geometric silhouette — but they also combined steel, glass, and wood for a bold material juxtaposition.
