Hot air balloons are now captured in a minimalist effect using soft lighting and precise cuts to create the Balloon Lamp by Uli Budde. The lamps come in a two piece creation. The top is a spherical metal plate, tilted at a 45 degree angle to coincide with the bottom canister which harbors the dim light bulb. The lamp will be featured at the annual international design fair Blickfang in Zurich, Switzerland this month. Since the balloon shape is at a tilted angle, the reflected light shines even brighter and fills more space of the room.
The inspiration came from the use of indirect light, such as the moon and its beautifully bright nighttime light. The lamp is a great addition to any mod interior design decor.
