U-Bahn Station Photography Displays the Beauty of the Underground

Australian Photographer Kate Seabrook became enamored with the U-Bahn station signs after moving to Berlin, Germany and started a Tumblr of photographs showing every single one of the stops along each line.

Taking the viewer on a journey through different neighborhoods, the photographer captures the difference in design and typography styles used throughout the stations. Like a trip through time, the photographs display the style trends of the period when the letters where installed, as well as the way in which the walls and lettering have decayed over the years.

By choosing to photograph all of the U-Bahn station signs, Kate Seabrook gives viewers a more personal perspective of Berlin, from the quiet beauty of the city's underground subway system.
