This Holographic Type Sculpture Comes to Life with Microsoft HoloLens

While type sculptures take the art of typography from two to three dimensions, at the Bellevue Arts Museum, in Washington state, attendees have the chance to experience the art in a new dimension with virtual reality.

The 'Holographic Type Sculpture' was created by Microsoft user experience designer, DongYhoon Park, as a means of showing the possibilities of what Microsoft's HoloLens technology can create. The virtual reality sculpture takes the form of words and phrases, which are dynamic in nature and boast the ability to move. The exhibit also boasts an interactive element, as users are able to "edit" the text and add to the exhibit over time.

For those not wearing a headset with which to see this technology in action, the art piece will go completely unseen during a visit to the museum.
