Tree-Hugging Arboreal Abodes

This Two-Storey Treehouse Playfully Embraces the Trunk

With little doubt, this two-storey treehouse is every kid's dream come true. While a wooden floor teetering from a couple branches does still provide a child with a space of his own, it hardly compares to what is essentially a miniature house in this backyard.

Doors, windows and a balcony have been incorporated into a carefully cut, crafted and assembled cabin with charming lumber cladding and a contemporary timber balustrade. The lovely little playhouse is built up around a thriving Tennessee tree and includes a front porch, hatch fenestration, homey decor and electricity as well. Perhaps the best news for the parents of the lucky children is that the darling domicile is safely grounded.

The two-storey treehouse was designed and constructed by the husband of photographer Laurel Pankratz for their kids.
