Tsuyoshi Tane Creates a Watch Installation for Milan Design Week

Parisian architect Tsuyoshi Tane designed a suspended watch-themed installation called "LIGHT is TIME" for Milan Design Week. The installment features hundreds of golden watch plates dangling from the ceiling to encapsulate the movement of time.

The "LIGHT is TIME" installation was built using over 80,000 watch plates suspended at different heights from white string to the ceiling inside a black room inside the Triennale di Milano design museum. As visitors walked through the exhibit, they could enjoy being encompassed by the weightless sense of time symbolized by the watch plates. From afar, the dangling watch plates look like little flecks of gold floating in the night sky. The installation was created in collaboration with CITIZEN Design studios to help draw attention to the brand's skilled watch-making.
