Tristan Cochrane Crafts a Chair with Metal Sardines

Tristan Cochrane's fish rocking chair is probably one of the most bizarre pieces of furniture you will ever come across. You're not hallucinating, this seat really does look like it's made out of a school of sardines. Tristan Cochrane has come up with a quirky way of taking the soft, squishy sardine and turning them into the building materials for his work.

To create the fish rocking chair, Tristan Cochrane made multiple reusable molds from different sardines to create wax sardines that he then assembled into the form of a chair. Once the shape was completed, Tristan Cochrane replaced each wax sardine with an aluminum version, which were then molded together to produce the unique fishy piece of furniture.Photo Credits: designboom, tristancochrane
