Tour & Taxis Was Renovated into a Sustainable Mixed-Use Space

Tour & Taxis has been undergoing reimagining and renovations for Extensa by local studio Archi 2000. The building was formerly used as a mail facility by the Brussels canal northwest of the Belgian capital. Eventually, its functions became obsolete, and it sat vacant for 20 years.

Now, the upgraded complex boasts four event spaces, accommodating 10,000 guests each. Galleries, conference rooms, and office spaces are now open in the complex, showcases carefully restored industrial architecture. Tour & Taxis aim to create an eco-led, mixed-use restored district. To do so, renewable-energy and energy-saving technologies were introduced by the architectural studio to many existing buildings. The district's food and retail hall is scheduled to launch in September 2021.
