Artistic Charcoal Murals

This Creative Charcoal-Covered Room was Designed by Studio Toogood

London-based Studio Toogood created this unique design for a drawing room at the Somerset House that features charcoal-covered walls. Each wall is actually decorated with the use of black chalky sketches of landscapes, windows and decorative wall accessories.

This unique art installation was created by the collaborative efforts of sisters Faye and Erica Toogood. The project, which is titled 'The Drawing Room' is a reflection of both the literal meaning as well as the antique word used to describe living rooms centuries ago.

In keeping with the retrospective themes, the entire room is filled with an essence of historical art. In addition to the wall decor, the room features accents of purely black and white accessories. For example, there spherical white lights and hollowed round black chairs sprinkled throughout the space.
