Garden-Themed Menswear Collections

This Tokyo New Age Presentation Spotlights Multiple Designers

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo's 'Tokyo New Age' Fall/Winter 2016 collection spotlighted the work of multiple design talents including Akiko Aoki, Kotoha Yokozawa, Keisuke Yoshida, Ryota Murakam and Soshi Otsuki, whose pieces were an homage to suburban gardens.

Dressed in an all-black wardrobe, models took to the stage in loose-fitting separates that were adorned with fresh foliage. While some donned floral necklaces that embodied the retro flower child aesthetic of the 70s, others made an even bolder statement with sweaters that appeared to bloom with flowers and leaves.

Furthermore, Soshi Otsuki's collection came to a close with an outfit that was accented with oversized fir tree branches -- draped over a monochromatic outfit that consisted of black trousers and a white top. This conceptual menswear range draws inspiration from nature and is a literal translation of modern camouflage.
