Before the invention of the clock, or other time-telling devices, people used to deduce the time of day by watching the sun, and the Time Stretch timepiece channels this tradition on a smaller scale, while challenging the way humans have now been taught to tell time. A unique device, Time Stretch looks like a smoke detector. Yet, instead of signalling potential fires, it projects lights around an entire room, which is used to tell the time.
Conceived by Detroit-based designer Scott Young, the Time Stretch clock also adds a unique decor element to living spaces through the strategically placed beams of light. Minimalistic and elegant, Time Stretch is also very futuristic, signalling a new way to both read and tell time.
