The Tiblo toy (Tangible Interactive Block) was created to help Dyslexic children become more adept with words, letters and phonemes by interlocking them physically like puzzle pieces. These modular electronic blocks facilitate the difficult and frustrating process of learning basic language and math skills through a fun and productive activity.
Designed by Sumit Pandey and Swati Srivastava, the Tiblo toy is able to record 10 seconds of audio, play it back and snap together with other blocks to form syntactical patterns based on the meaning the child has assigned to each block. Simple, yet clever, the Tiblo toy also features a grid-like surface that allows users to decorate with pictures, letters and pushpins to make the process even more understandable and meaningful.
The true beauty of the Tiblo toy is that it will be seen as a toy first and foremost by children, and a learning aid second.
