This Three-Storey Home Features a Dramatic Lattice Concealment

Alterstudio designed the 'East Windsor Residence,' a thin, three-storey home located in Austin, Texas.

The home's narrow composition was the result of restrictive access to the site; however, the skinny silhouette doesn't stop the house from being absolutely extraordinary. The house affords spectacular views of the city -- most obviously from the top-floor master suite. The house, which rests on top of a black Leuders limestone base, is also enclosed by an ipe screen. The screen is perforated by steel windows which contrast nicely against the lattice screen. Moreover, the screen has the transformative ability to unfold, revealing the dining room within.

A pivoting glass door leads guests to an ebony-colored oak staircase, suspended throughout the three-storey space. Beyond this massive staircase, a glass wall reveals views of a private garden outside.
